Potae Sizing Guide

Finding the right fit ensures your potae sits comfortably and holds its shape. Use a soft measuring tape and measure around the top of your head — from above your ears to the front of your forehead.

Size Options

Small: 56cm–60cm
Medium: 60cm–65cm
Large: 65cm–70cm

How to Measure

Wrap the tape around the crown of your head, sitting just above the ears and across the front of your forehead. This measurement will help you choose the most comfortable size.

Quantity

Natural harakeke potae are taonga woven with care and intention. With the right treatment, they can last for generations. Please follow these care guidelines to keep your potae strong, beautiful, and well‑shaped.

General Care

Any spillage can be wiped gently with a damp cloth.

Dry immediately — warm sunshine is ideal for restoring firmness and shape.

Avoid wearing your potae in heavy rain, as natural fibres soften and may lose form when wet.

Storage

Do not store your potae in plastic or cardboard, as these trap moisture.

Keep it in a cool, dry place with good airflow.

Store away from direct sunlight — especially dyed potae — to prevent fading.

Mould Care

If mould appears, brush it off gently.

Wipe the area with white vinegar diluted in water.

Dry immediately in sunshine to prevent further growth.

Longevity
